    Bar Associations conduct independent reviews of all candidates for judge. They consider a lawyer’s professional history and personal conduct. The process includes the candidate submitting a questionnaire that detail on all aspects of one practice including litigation experience, complex litigation and references from partners, opponents and judges.

    Judge Murphy-Aguilu received positive ratings from all available bar associations prior to his appointment by the Illinois Supreme Court

  • Labor Associations

    Labor Associations review, interview and endorse candidates. Candidates that receive endorsements have both the qualifications and reputation within the field of law but a history of supporting organized labor. Labor organizations send notice of these endorsements to their members.

    Judge Murphy-Aguilu has experience working with and managing union employees. His reputation for supporting employees and positive work environments led to support by local unions.

  • Community Organizations

    Community Organizations often review and offer support or recommendations for judicial candidates. The process differs for each group however the organizations review the candidates experience and dedication to their practice.
