I voted! Very cool experience to see your name on a ballot and be able to cast that vote. I don’t know how people go through these elections every term. I have a new found respect for that type of public service.
Thank you to everyone, too many to name, who voted, sent messages and offered encouraging words. A special thank you to my family who rallied around this journey and picked up the slack to allow our success. Nothing in life is accomplished alone, I share this with all of my former partners and colleagues, my friends, family, neighbors, teammates and players who have all been generous with their love and wisdom.
Tomorrow is Election Day- Democratic Primary. There are several very important races with some of the most talented dedicated and kind people I know on the ballot. Each of the people in these pictures have been huge and instrumental supporters in the JMA for Judge campaign. They each have dedicated time, advise, love and provided me support. I could not be where I am without the village of people who believe in me and backed me. I absolutely endorse each of these Judges, Judge Cecilia Gamrath for Appellate Court, Justice Cynthia Cobbs for Appellate Court, Judge Neil Cohen, Judge Debajani Desai, and Judge Ed Underhill.
The Judicial Cannons do not allow me to endorse candidates for other offices but I will say these four individuals provided personal support to my campaign and I want to publicly thank them and wish them my best in tomorrows primary. Joe Cook who is running for committeemen in 45 ward, Senator Natalie Toro running for her seat 20th district Illinois Senate, Iris Martinez, the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Paul Rosenfeld running for committeemen of the 47th Ward.
Finally, for Supreme Court of Illinois. No one cares more, works harder, has a more diverse background in legal practice or personal journey than Justice Joy Virginia Cunningham. From immigrant parents from the Cayman Islands and Panama, city colleges of NY to law school in Chicago. A practicing nurse to the general counsel for Northwestern Medicine. Illinois is an island of blue in a sea of red, we need JVC to ensure Democracy.

Last night was an amazing honor to attend HLAI’s Judicial Reception as a judge for the first time. The Latino Judges and lawyers are always so warm and welcoming. It was at this event last year I was encouraged to run. I saw many friends including two past presidents of HLAI @j_l_cruzesq and @andreabelard . Reminds me of how lucky I am to be a part of this Latino legal community.
For months I have been anywhere voters are willing to meet and hear my story. It all starts today! Early voting at the super sites is open and I NEED your votes.
I also need your likes, follows and shares to reach as many votes as possible! I am asking for my friends, family and network to put out the word.

Windy City Times just did a wonderful article on my colleague Judge Ed Underhill. Ed discusses how incredible our job is and the process of running to keep it. I’m so proud of the amazing Judges I have met in this process. Make sure to check out the article and vote for Judge Ed Underhill, Justice Joy Cunningham, Judge Neil Cohen, Judge Debjani Desai and Attorney Pablo DeCastro on March 19, 2024

Thanks to local 399 plumbers and Presiding Judge Honorable Diann Marsalek for inviting me to the pre St Patrick’s day parade dinner. This dinner was star studded including Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton and Alderwoman Jeylu Gutierrez.
Is was honored to be the guest of the guest of honor, my boss Traffic’s Presiding Judge Diann Marsalek, at the Chicago Society of Polish National Alliance’s annual banquet. Thank you Judge Marsalek for your continued support and congratulations on your award as member of the year.
I am incredibly proud to be endorsed by Personal PAC. Personal PAC has fought tirelessly to support and protect individuals health rights.
I am extremely proud to be endorsed by the Chicago Federation of Labor. Thank you to the CFL leadership for the honor.
As we celebrate Dr Martin Luther King today we are reminded that after all this time we are still working for change on many of the same issues.
In 1957 Dr King said, “Give us the ballot and we will place judges on the benches of the South who will ‘do justly and love mercy,’”
We have the ballot, we have the power, please vote.
Thank you to Calvin Jordan Joy Cunningham for Justice and Pastor Dr Bryan Brazier of the Apostolic Church of God
